Saved Routes Disappearing

I've now gone through this process 6 times and have done for everything I can find online to see if I can fix my issue and have not figured it out.  Any advice is much appreciated. When I create a new route then hit save, the route disappears from my computer with in minutes and I can't find it.   

Here is the process I have been using:

Create Route. Name it. Change from hiking to driving. Click in map to map my route. When I am finished, Save. 

Then I can usually find my new route in saved items on the left for a few minutes before it disappears.

I have tried moving my route into a folder after saving it, shortening the length of my route, naming it differently, looking for it in my folders and my routes, looked in the archive in my folders.  I also closed the program and restarted my computer several times.  

Am I doing something incorrectly?   I have 2 other routes I have created that I saved and are in my folder with no issues, but I can not get any new routes to save without disappearing.

    They are definitely having some issues with their servers. I can't get elevation data to work at all. I've tried mapping the same hike in Switzerland 3 times now and it disappears every time. I suspect a critical service is down and nobody's working on the holiday. Getting really frustrated.

    Having the same issue in saving a driving route. Have recreated it 4 times in the past 4 days. It will display as though it is saved and searchable, then magically disappear with no trace. Very frustrating!!!! I really hope this is corrected very quickly.

    I have been following/researching the newest version of OnXOffroad as my new system - seems they have gotten their ":bugs" worked out and are now much more robust. I don't want to switch, but my time is scarce and to have all my work disappear MULTIPLE times is pushing me away from Gaia.

    I'm pretty sure I'm going to cancel my subscription to GaiaGPS to do recurring issues like this.  Using to work well, but recently, having alot of frustrating problems.  I'm also having problems with downloaded .GPX files showing up in the program, but not visible on the map, even though I tell it to make visible.

    I'm not going to pay for functionality that doesn't work anymore.

    Having a very similar problem. I have a route that is half built, I finish it off click safe and it reverts back to the uncompleted route. Frustrating to say the least.

    I am posting my correspondence with Gaia support (Jan 2024) below concerning my contact regarding these issues. The point - my last contact in the correspondence I explain that I prefer Gaia and ask for updates in correcting these issues and there have only been CRICKETS - no further customer contact, additional support (as indicated would be provided after Gaia Ben gave suggestions), and certainly no update on what appears to be a failing system that us subscribers have paid for.

    I will be curious to see if this post receives any customer support / system update response.

    Have recreated it 4 times in the past 4 days. It will display as though it is saved and searchable, then magically disappear with no trace. Very frustrating!!!!
    I have created and downloaded multiple other data files with no issue, so I don't believe this is operator error. I have attached multiple screen shots of a "test" route BEFORE completing the whole AGAIN to demonstrate what is displayed before it disappears.
    I understand many others in the past / are currently experiencing the same issues. Please don't make us seek and change the system we use - We have invested heavily in this platform.

    After submitting Support Ticket (976802), I tried again to complete the route by using the edit feature. This is the 5th occasion that I have completed this route. I have attached pics, in sequence, of the results - immediately upon completion Gaia displays the route as saved. Closed the program and within a couple of hours, Opened it and found the "edited" portion of the route missing, not to be found, ONCE AGAIN. WHY????

    Sorry for the trouble. 
     
    I was not able to reproduce the issue. I created a new test route, saved it, logged out from the account, logged back in and the route is still there. I then edited the route and saved it; did the same flow as logging out, waited for a good 15 minutes and logged back in. The edited route is still there. I used Chrome version 120.0.6099.225. 
     
    I checked your account and I see the "Untitled Route" from your screenshots. Is this the un-edited route though?
     
    Can you please try the following steps?:

    • Check if you have the latest version of Chrome.
    • Clear cache your browser. 
    • Close and re-launch. 
    • Make a new test route and then save. Check if it is indeed saved. 
    • Edit the test route. 

     
    If the issue persists after doing these, let me know and I will help troubleshoot further.

    Ben,

    I appreciate your quick response and helpful possible remedies - They had either been followed the first 4 attempts, or tried on my 5th, which again disappeared after Gaia indicated the route / edit had been saved that I created using a different search engine log in (Firefox on this occasion while my previous attempts were with Google Chrome v120.0.6099.225).

    I have now utilized OnXOffroad and created the route again with no problems, saved in their program, then downloaded the GPX file and uploaded it into my Gaia program. Surprisingly it remains to date.

    Not certain what the issue is, but I know many others have experienced data disappearing as well. I will have to begin using OnXOffroad until program bugs are corrected in Gaia (which I prefer, but do not have time to create / re-create over and over, nor build in one program to save in another).

    Please get it together and keep me updated with correction of problems. I will gladly return and attempt to use Gaia again when this is completed.

    Having the same issues. Many many routes end up not saving, even found that it won't even download the gpx. This is a real shame as this I feel is the best mapping solution out there but with these problems it's becoming very frustrating. 

    Just as an example of the problem I am seeing.

    • Start creating a route and save it periodically whilst editing. 
    • Open Gaiagps in a new window and that route doesn't exist..
    • Go back to the original window and export the route as GPS. (Seems to export something but it's not the route I've been creating.

    I do tend to create large routes, e.g. 200+ miles. So not sure if that's relevant. I hope they sort this.

    I’m having similar issues attempting to create routes for dirt biking in Moab and am getting very frustrated with Gaia no longer saving the routes I take time to create. I have been using Gaia for several years, but recently it seems to have lost significant functionality and reliability. Likely going to cancel subscription and move to OnX. Not worth the frustration.

    Same/similar problems with saved routes not saving correctly. They seen to have lost much of my data, and technical support appears to have become non responsive. I figured things would get bad when Outside took over, but they really seem to be trying to kill this formerly awesome app. Do they have a replacement or something? Does anyone have suggestions for a good option now that Gaia has gone down the pot?
