Waterways still not showing on Gaia maps

There was a post from 3 years ago about waterways in Nat Forests not showing up in Gaia. I still have the same problem with waterways in some areas in Canada. None of the Gaia layers show lakes or streams in the top image (around Mount Moresby on Haida Gwaii BC). The second image was taken just north of there, where the waterways show up just fine. the hydrography layer only works for the US, so that is not an option.

If this can't be fixed, I may have to get CalTopo instead, as I need waterways for navigation!

  I think I found the issue - it may be with OSM, rather than Gaia. OSM appears to be missing the water layer in some places as well. It appears to be rather random...
