My book series on hiking in the Somerset, Ky region--Daniel Boone National Forest mostly
I want to announce my book series on hiking in the Somerset, Ky region. I am a senior citizen, over 70. For the last several years, a friend and I have been hiking in the Daniel Boone National Forest, mostly on Forest Service land, but also in some other places. Years ago, my wife and I went hiking. I have another friend with whom I did a little hiking, and also driving 4x4 vehicles. I started an e-Book series last year, and have three done so far, and I'm working on the 4th. I have a ton of photos, and my books are mostly photos. Most of the hiking was not on trails. My hiking friend and I used GAIA for navigation. I also carried a paper map most times. I used to use only paper maps, until my friend gave me a phone with GAIA on it. Big help. We both had phones with GAIA. Better to have two, in case one gets damaged or lost. Last August I fell while out by myself at a creek alongside a little town. That ruined the phone. It would be bad to be out in the boonies with only one phone with GPS/maps, and it get ruined or lost. Anyway, I have three e-Books published to the Lulu Publishing.com bookstore. My books have many photos, so I had to put them in PDF format. Lulu Publishing is the only place where I could list my books for sale, because they are in PDF. Kindle was not viable for me because I don't text. They require texting to get a code to sign in. Not everybody is into texting. So I found that I could do this through Lulu Publishing. My books are ONLY in the Lulu bookstore. Title: Hiking and Exploring In Parts Of Daniel Boone National Forest and Other Areas--Part 1. I have a Part 2 and a Part 3, and I'm working on Part 4. My price is low, considering all the photos in those e-Books. This is a creative outlet for me, and I wanted to get a little extra income to go along with my Social Security allotment. There is much of interest in the Somerset, Ky region, and I have taken a documentary approach to my hiking and photography, with many photos showing where I went and what I saw.
