    Hi,

When you install Gaia GPS on a new device, your maps will have to re-download from the server, since Apple doesn't allow us to back up the actual map files.

They should start re-downloading automatically, and one thing you could do to speed it up, is leave the app open overnight with your phone plugged in.

Similar problem on Android. Had maps on old SD card, moved SD card to new phone, changed root storage on app to SD card, still nothing. Maps will show in app and open f connected to wifi or data, but will not open when in airplane mode. Tried re-syncing. Is there a way to force app to re-download?

To transfer maps to your new device, you will need to:
    1. Sync your old device
    2. Log into your new device with the same Gaia GPS account

Unfortunately, it is not possible to transfer maps through an SD card. Sorry for the confusion.

Since you already have your new device set up and transfer Gaia GPS's root folder to your SD card, I recommend following this steps to you download your maps.
