Best resolution for downloading maps for offline use
What is the recommended resolution for downloading maps for offline use. Some of the maps I have downloaded are fuzzy when I try to scroll down to get greater detail of an area. The maximum resolution uses a lot of memory which I would prefer not to waste if not needed.

You could download Gaia Topo. It is mobile optimized and takes up less space on your device, even at the maximum zoom level.

I typically find that the default zoom level when downloading a map is sufficient. Usually, the default is around 15, but it can vary depending on the map.

I have an android tablet.. I have noticed that the map resolution for the same map when view online and offline is much different. The online resolution can be at least 5 zoom levels better.

Sorry for the trouble.
The resolution should be the same if the map is fully downloaded. I have emailed you directly to troubleshoot this issue.0 -
I have a similar issue. Android tablet. Using the NatGeo Trails Illustrated because of the large forest road call outs. The area I download is not overly large. I have done it with map download and zoom to 15 and an area download set to high resolution. In both cases after the download, turn on airplane mode. Cleared cache. Went to saved, selected download and show on map. When I zoom in, it is blurry. Need some help.

I have the same issue with NatGeo Trails Illustrated maps on on my Android phone. I have downloaded them at max zoom and still have quite a bit of blurriness when I zoom in. Can you email me to help troubleshoot? Even when I am connected to internet Some portions zoom in nice and some are quite blurry.
No problems with the GAIA topo layer.
