I am a Superintendent of a US Forest Service Hotshot Crew (Hotshot = Type-1 Wildland Fire Crew).

I have been using Gaia for a year or more with the regular acct. I am now a pro acct holder, in fact I just mapped my first Fire from a helicopter, along with creating my flight plan prior to take off (VERY COOL STUFF ! ). I am managing a Wild Fire up in our Wilderness area. I needed to create and print some map products (that's why I upgraded to the pro acct). I was able to do the basics and print but I am looking for more help fine tuning the final product. Making maps of any kind is a new thing for me as well. I have question for a Gaia folks about the maps I am working on. I am also interested in asking some questions about the Pro team acct's. I have up to 10 of my guys running GPS's on the fires we work, so having a mapping/GPS system that I could go into one source and pull data from my other group members would be VERY helpful. We are just scratching the surface of the new tech age among my peers(old dogs are hard to convince to try new tricks, but were coming around quickly) and I have been talking and sharing the name Gaia very often around other Superintendents that have similar configurations of GPS equipment and I do get allot of interest as well as a few that have gone on to purchase it. Anyway I feel we both have something to offer each other. I look forward to continuing to learn your program, as well as continuing to get the word out, especially if Gaia can do the things that I'm hoping it can do for our professional wildland fire community.
