Phone Format - Maps no longer on SD Card?

I had Gaia installed to my SD Card with a few downloaded maps. I had to format my phone so I reinstalled Gaiai and moved it to the SD Card again. Once I synced to my online account, I could see a list of my maps but they did not seem to be downloaded. I have to download them again. Shouldn't they should still be on my SD Card as that was not formatted? Is there a way the app can "find" them again without having to download them again?

  Hi Glenn,

  The short answer is that it isn't possible for the app to find them again if you reinstall the app.

  When you moved data to the SD card, it moves a lot, but not all of the apps data. 

  The app settings are still in the phone’s main storage so if you reinstall, those settings are replaced, and it’s those settings that told the app what data was downloaded and where they were stored.
