Creating routes using web client - keyboard shortcut to toggle off drawing

I prefer to use the web client with my large monitor and mouse to plan hikes and create routes. Some of the map editing apps I've used facilitate panning and zooming while drawing routes by holding down left-hand CMD key or spacebar, which toggles off drawing (waypoint creation) and frees up the mouse for doing other things. For me, this is smoother then click-drag and less prone to fat-fingering and would be a nice feature to add to the web client. BTW, I love the new platform, prefer it so so much to kludgy Garmin and DeLorme bundled software and OS's - no problem whatsoever with the subscription model!
