AT trail shelters and campsites are no longer visible.
Although I still see the AT trail on the map, suddenly the shelters and campsites are no longer visible. How can I restore this information? Why did it disappear?

I see you also sent us an email about this. Please check your inbox for more information.

I would also like to know the answer to this.

Mark,
I believe the original poster was referring to an issue with this folder, which has since been fixed: https://www.gaiagps.com/datasummary/folder/dedfe4c3-dc0e-496e-b505-c47f14548a52/?layer=GaiaTopoRasterFeet
If you're having trouble with something else, please let me know.

I noticed AT shelters don’t appear on gaiatopo or openhikingmap. For instance the shelter openstreetmap.org/node/419230358 doesn’t appear.

Hey Mark,
I don't believe we've got Gaia Topo set up to show AT shelters, but that's a great idea and I'll pass it along!
In the meantime, we have the official NatGeo Appalachian Trail Maps available with a Premium Membership, and I believe that shows the shelters. Check it out and let me know what you think.
EDIT:
You could also copy the folder I linked above to your account, and the shelters will show as waypoints on your map!0 -
Interesting, I didn’t know about folders. Thanks for the tip. I wish I could afford the premium membership. I only have the non-premium membership.
Yea OSM has the “shelter” amenity tag for nodes along with a shelter_type tag. I think that would add all the shelters world wide in OSM.
