Setting Trail Waypoints and Route Creation

I'm trying to create a route with waypoints and notice the point does not map to the trail and creates a straight line instead. Any workarounds to this?

  A couple quick questions:

  • Are you trying to create the route in the app or on Gaia GPS?
  • What trail are you trying to create a route for?

  It was on Gaia GPS trying to map the South Fortuna trail in San Diego. I was eventually able to get it to work when I removed all the layers and just used the Gaia Topo layer. Maybe having too many layers caused the issue?

  Sam,

  Gaia Topo does a great job at showing the trails that will work with the 'snap-to-trail' feature. Some maps show trails that aren't available or out of date. Using Gaia Topo when making routes should help!
